KIRSTEN UHRIG "I have been painting since I was a child, learning about colour by watching my mother paint well before school age."

“I work with different mediums along with oil paint such as pen and ink, watercolour, acrylic, enamel, graphite and charcoal and soapstone. Experimentation is important to me and at times I play with aerosol cans and other graffiti materials (on canvas and paper) combined with more traditional mediums. I also work with video and sound.

“After settling in Adelaide in 1990 I have held solo exhibitions for Adelaide Fringe and Adelaide Feast Festival as well as solo and group shows independently.  My paintings are included in private collections in UK and Italy as well as Australia wide. I teach in my own studio in Adelaide and co-ordinate exhibitions of my students' work."
